Our Story
Southdown Coffee's story began in 2014 when Mark Boccard brought his passion for specialty coffee to cafes across Long Island, earning national recognition for expert-level coffee roasting at the 2019 US Coffee Roasters Championship and mentioned in Food & Wine among the Best Coffee Shops in America.
From the start, we've been dedicated to roasting and serving high-quality coffee that's ethically sourced. Our partnerships with importers and coffee growers worldwide are crucial to our mission of making a positive impact on the supply chain. In 2020, we became an employee-owned company, aligning our success with a valued team committed to providing top-notch service to our customers.
Our Coffee
As specialty coffee roasters, we're passionate about presenting our single origin coffees with clarity and balance. Our coffee menu explores a range of possibilities for how coffee can taste, introducing new and interesting coffees for adventurous tasters and more familiar profiles for those who prefer the comfort of age-old routines.
At all of our cafes and in the roastery, we rotate single origin offerings on espresso and batch brew and calibrate to ensure that each coffee is represented at its best.
