Santo Domingo de Acobamba is a small community located in the district of the same name. The district of Acobamba has almost 10,000 inhabitants, many of whom are dedicated to coffee farming.

The Acobamba region is unique and special. Until the 1990s, producers in the area only grew beans, corn, and other grains. However, in the early 2000s, some local producers who used to work as day laborers in the Junín jungle during the coffee harvest season decided to start growing coffee and watch it thrive.
